All O3 Systems are licensed with the General Public License (GPL), either Version 2 or 3.

It is important to highlight that the GPL license represents a tough limit when the software is used inside critical environments.

Indeed the license clearly point out that:

"THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE PROGRAM, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AND/OR OTHER PARTIES PROVIDE THE PROGRAM “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Every software offered by O3 Consortium is considered a "Medical Device"; to overcome the limitation written above, the members of the "O3 service provider community" receive the possibility to cover the software with the most common certifications:

• CE mark 
• FDA certification
